The house has a very typical builder-grade layout. To the right of the entry is an office; to the left is a dining room. Straight ahead are stairs going up. At the back of the house is the kitchen, eating space and living room that over looks the amazing backyard! I have been VERY busy doing some small but big impact mini makeovers in the last couple of months. Below is my craft room makeover which entaled painting the floors. I promise to show the final reveal as well as the DIY breakdown. See more below…
This is my daughters room and as you can see we took a basic Ikea bed and transformed it into the modern farmhouse look I was going for.
Eating area with our shiplap bench that is almost done.
We decided that since we spend so much time in the kitchen and our biggest challenge, it made sense to make a few big-impact, small-cost projects that would totally transform the space and make it more enjoyable for us to work and gather in.
We are far from finished but again wanted to share all that has been keeping us busy.
We extended the cabinets up, we put up subway tile (still needs grout) and we are currently working on our concrete counters. We still have a lot of renovations going on the kitchen like take out the left wall extending the kitchen and putting an island in. As I promise I will be posting through the next few months on more details on the DIYS and pictures of the final reveals.
